This policy explains how the Auto Subscribe for YouTube Chrome extension ("the extension", "we", "us") handles information. The extension is built by Pidugu, an independent software studio, and is distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
The short version: the extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Everything it does happens locally in your browser.
What the extension does
Auto Subscribe lets you load a list of YouTube channel URLs from a .txt file and then opens each channel and clicks its Subscribe button on your behalf, with batching, delays, and progress tracking. It acts on your behalf within your own browser, using the YouTube session you are already signed in to.
Information we collect
We do not collect, store on our servers, or sell any personal information about you. We do not operate a backend server that receives your data at all.
Stored on your device only — never sent to us
- The list of channel URLs you load from your file.
- Your settings (batch size and delay).
- Your run progress and any channels that were skipped or failed.
- Whether you've dismissed or completed the optional "rate this extension" prompt.
This information is kept in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own computer. It never leaves your device and we cannot see it. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.
Permissions and why they're needed
The extension requests only the permissions required for its core function:
- Tabs — to open each channel in a tab, perform the subscribe action, and close the tab when done.
- Storage — to save your channel list, settings, and progress locally so a run can pause and resume.
- Notifications — to let you know when a batch pauses or the full list finishes.
- Alarms — to keep a long run reliable; because the browser can suspend the extension's background worker, a periodic alarm resumes the queue so a run doesn't stall.
- Access to youtube.com — the extension only operates on
youtube.compages, where it locates and clicks the Subscribe button. It does not run on any other website.
Your YouTube account
The extension performs subscriptions using the YouTube account you are already logged into in your browser, exactly as if you clicked Subscribe yourself. It does not read, store, export, or transmit your account credentials, your watch history, your existing subscriptions, or any other account information. We never receive any of it.
Analytics & tracking
There are none. The extension contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no identifiers used to track you across sites. We do not build a profile of you.
Third parties
We do not send your information to any third party, because we don't collect it. The only external service involved is the Chrome Web Store, through which Google distributes the extension under its own terms and privacy policy.
Children's privacy
The extension does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. If you have any concern, please contact us.
Your rights
Because we don't collect personal information that can identify you, there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. Everything the extension stores stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall it. If you believe we hold personal information about you and wish to exercise rights under the GDPR, CCPA, or another privacy law, email us and we'll respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date above. We won't reduce the protections described here without making the change clear.
