Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Auto Scroll for YouTube Shorts Chrome extension ("the extension", "we", "us") handles information. The extension is built by Pidugu, an independent software studio, and is distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

What the extension does

Auto Scroll plays the next YouTube Short when the current one finishes. It adds a round on/off button beside the up and down buttons on Shorts pages (youtube.com/shorts) so you can turn the behavior on or off at any time. It also lets the next / previous buttons on your headphones or keyboard (for example, a double-press on AirPods) move to the next or previous Short. It acts only within your own browser, by pressing YouTube's own "Next video" and "Previous video" buttons on your behalf.

Information we collect

We do not collect, store on our servers, or sell any personal information about you. We do not operate a backend server that receives your data at all, and the extension makes no network requests.

Stored in your browser only — never sent to us

• Whether auto scroll is turned on or off.
• Whether to wait while the comments panel is open.
• Whether headphone and media key controls are turned on.

These three on/off settings are kept in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.sync). If you have Chrome Sync turned on, Google may sync them between your own signed-in browsers under Google's privacy policy; they are never sent to us and we cannot see them. You can clear them at any time by removing the extension.

Permissions and why they're needed

The extension requests only the permissions required for its core function:

• Storage — to remember the three settings above, so your choice persists between sessions and stays in sync between the on-page button and the toolbar popup.
• Access to youtube.com — the extension only operates on youtube.com pages, where it detects when a Short has finished, moves to the next or previous one, and shows the on/off button. It does not run on any other website.

Your YouTube account

The extension does not read, store, export, or transmit your account credentials, your watch history, the videos you view, comments, or any other account or page information. It only checks the playback position of the Short on screen to know when it has ended, and responds to the next / previous media key. It does not listen to your microphone or access your headphones or any other device. We never receive any of it.

Analytics & tracking

There are none. The extension contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no third-party trackers, no remote code, and no identifiers used to track you across sites. We do not build a profile of you.

Third parties

We do not send your information to any third party, because we don't collect it. The only external service involved is the Chrome Web Store, through which Google distributes the extension under its own terms and privacy policy. The extension is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

Children's privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. If you have any concern, please contact us.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personal information that can identify you, there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. Everything the extension stores stays in your browser and is removed when you uninstall it. If you believe we hold personal information about you and wish to exercise rights under the GDPR, CCPA, or another privacy law, email us and we'll respond promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date above. We won't reduce the protections described here without making the change clear.
